The Theory and Practice of Short Fiction Writing (Apr)
This 30 hour course which is taught by Paddy Richardson and Maxine Alterio introduces participants to the principles and practice of short fiction writing. Content is delivered using a range of interactive teaching and learning methods. Each session includes theoretical components, practical writing activities and opportunities to give and receive feedback.

Incorporating US 16164 (Describe key concepts associated with hui):
This course aims to provide participants with a good understanding of Te Reo me ōna tikaka as it relates to ceremonies. Participants will gain a clear understanding of tikaka and kawa. While use and practice of Kai Tahu reo and tikaka will be used there will be discussion of the regional and dialectal differences. Learning outcomes include the use of basic reo and kawa during various ceremonial occasions, explaining concepts of Te Ao Māori and how they apply to ceremonies, and mihi to welcome guests.

This two-day workshop is suitable for people who use competency based assessment tools,
whether in a work setting or a training room. It will suit both tutors and those wishing to become
registered workplace assessors. There are two follow-on assessment tasks to be carried out to
